Today we decided to go on a lovely autumn walk in a group, taking the Babies Toddlers and Pre-school one children out together.
We went for a walk around a local park to enjoy the fresh autumn air. We put on our outdoor clothes and we took buckets with us so we could collect any interesting objects we might find whilst walking around such as pinecones, acorns and leaves. We found lots!
We also saw a man cutting the long grass which was lots of fun because his mower was very noisy. The children also spotted a pond with lots of ducks swimming around on it. We counted 15 and recognised all the different colours of their feathers. Most of them were brown and white, and they had orange beaks. The children also enjoyed impersonating the ducks shouting ‘Quack Quack’ as loud as we could.
We then had some time to do some exercise outside! We ran around the grass like a big train, moving our whole bodies. Then we jumped up and down, reaching for the stars then touching the ground.
The children also showed a huge interest in all the leaves falling off the trees, so we collected some of these and took them back to nursery. We then used them to stick down onto paper, and added them to water and paint to change the colour.
