Stourbridge Nursery have had a visit from the animal lady to celebrate Halloween. She brought in lots of spooky animals for us to see and told us all about where the animals originated from, how they lived and what they liked to eat. We all got the opportunity to see them up close and had a go at holding some if we wanted to. The children even got to feed some of the animals!
We saw a Frog, Owl, Cockroach, skinny Guinea pig and even a Bearded Dragon!
The children were able to ask questions if they wanted to and we learnt some facts about the animals. It was also a fantastic way to talk to the children about how to handle animals safely and carefully, and the importance of good hand hygiene when handling animals.
Later on in the day, the older children within our Nursery took part in a group discussion where they were able to share with one another which was their favourite animal and if they have any pets at home. They even shared some fun facts about their pets too!
