This week the Pre-toddlers theme has been the story ‘Walter’s Wonderful Web’ a story based around lots of different shapes!

We have used colourful bricks to create our own simple structures, with the adults counting out the bricks as we built and encouraging the children to join in, “1, 2, 3……”.

Sponges were cut out into various shapes to create shape pictures. Whilst the children painted the staff described the shapes ‘circle’ ‘square’ ‘triangle’ with some children able to repeat the shapes back and pointing to them.

We have created our own spider webs using painted string and getting very messy! The children enjoyed feeling the string and giggled when running it through their hands.
