In Pre-school one we have had the pleasure of having our very own nursery cook Clair come out of the kitchen and teach us all about cooking biscuits!

First of all we washed our hands and got the ingredients ready. We helped Clair measure out the ingredients and mix them together. We kneaded the dough, promoting our fine motor skills. We used our fingers to knead the dough, then used the rolling pin to roll out the dough. When it was flat we used the circle cutter to cut out the biscuit shape.

We discussed what ingredients we wanted to decorate our biscuits. We chose milk and white melted chocolate and lots of colorful sprinkles! We had lots of fun making them but even more fun eating them!

We were able to introduce and use words such as knead, stretchy, mix, ingredients, floury, soft and sweet which helped us to describe our activity.
