Pre-school two gave our cook a run for her money today and had a great time making their very own pizzas! We started by making the pizza bases, measuring and adding our own ingredients and kneading the dough – it was very sticky! The children then rolled out the dough with the rolling pin and selected their desired toppings – They were very tasty and we were very proud of our creations.
The adults supported the children by modelling techniques for kneading and rolling the dough, and asked the children to describe the textures, smells and colours of the dough and the toppings as they were exploring them. They also encouraged the children to try a new topping, even just a tiny bit, to give them the confidence to broaden their tastebuds.
