The children have been having lots of fun with the soft play in our soft play room. Helen put some of the pieces of soft play together to make a bridge for the 3 Billy goats gruff story and then made an area for the fresh grass. Helen then chose 3 children to be Billy goats and one to be the troll. Each child with Helen’s help walked along the soft play and then stood on a big piece of soft play before jumping off onto the grass area.
Some of the children acted out the story with Helen and filled in missing words when Helen encouraged them to say what they wanted to add to the story. The children anticipated key events and also added their own events to the story, which made it all the more fun! This exercised their imagination and language skills.
All of the children enjoyed talking part in the activity and loved being able to jump up and down on the soft play. The children then attempted some pencil rolls and forward rolls on the blue mat. They used lots of muscle strength to do this!
