In Pre-school one during our outdoor play we collected resources from around the garden. The children filled a bowl with mud and poured water into the bowl and mixed it together using sticks. The children told their carer they were making mud cakes. The children came inside, with sticks that they had picked from the garden. The carer covered the table with paper and helped the children to bring the bowl of mud in and placed it on the table. The children then used the different sized sticks to print the mud onto the paper, using their imagination to create pictures with mud and sticks. One child told the carer “I am doing dots” the child then said “I am doing the letter S for my name”. Another child told the carer “look I am making a house, here is the door”.
