Shooting Stars Sandwich Shop

Pre-School 2 have been showing an interest in making and preparing food, so we have turned our role play area into a sandwich shop.

We filled the role play area with all the resources they might need such as play food, dressing up clothes, drinking cups, a till and more. The children chose what part they would play such as, the chef or the cashier and had great fun carrying out their role. Pre-school had good knowledge about the role of each job and copied actions they have seen from memory and in books. This activity allowed the children to develop their imagination and explore the different ideas they have, while also playing within a group co-operatively.

For our group activity we have been baking different breads and scones. The children loved joining in with all parts such as weighing, mixing and moulding. Whilst we were baking, we spoke about the textures and noticed how the dough was changing over time. Once baked we were able to try what we had made, the children were very proud and their bread and scones were very yummy!
