Our stick insect pets are thriving!
This week the children have really enjoyed observing their class pets and we are all learning so much from them every day. The children are fascinated by how fast our stick insects are growing. We noticed that sometimes our stick insects do a little ‘dance’ when they are crawling on our hands. We found out that they do this because they are pretending to be twigs blowing in the breeze to blend in and not get spotted! The children thought this was very clever and that they are very good at pretending to be twigs. We also cleaned their habitat and gave them some fresh ivy to munch on to help them grow even bigger!
