The wet weather has presented the perfect opportunity for the Toddlers to explore the movement of water and capacity. Using different sized measuring tubes and a ramp, we observed the water travelling downhill. We noticed that the fuller jugs made the water travel faster. We also discussed that the number on the side of the measuring jug tells us how much water we have inside it. A bigger number means more water! We encouraged the children to use the vocabulary ‘more/less’, ‘faster/slower’ and ’empty/full’ during their investigation.
