We moved a log in the natural play area and found lots of wonderful mini beasts hiding underneath. We talked about their colours and counted their legs and the children were fascinated by the way they crawled and wriggled about! Hannah picked up a woodlouse to show the children more closely, and they all wanted to hold him too, letting him crawl up their arm and over their hand. Afterwards, we talked about the importance of cleaning our hands properly as we had been outside and also handling creatures.
