Preschool have had great fun carving pumpkins

Pre-school have had great fun carving a pumpkin themselves. We talked about the size and shape of his nose and eyes but the children did ask for a little help to make a mouth. The children really enjoyed this “Adventurous Play” where they got to use the real pumpkin carving tools and test their own capabilities in using the tools in a controlled and safe manner. Giving the children chance to have a go themselves allows them to build their confidence and learn from their own mistakes. Pre-school were very proud of their pumpkin and lovingly called him Bob. The children then later really enjoyed exploring the pumpkin guts with their hands and under the magnifying glass.
