Lots of different textures have been explored by the Toddlers over the last few weeks.

We have discovered various textures inside and outside such as bark, soil, vegetables, jelly, ice, playdough, clay, shaving foam, gloop and more! Touching and feeling these different objects, the children have been encouraged to think about what they feel like and use describing words to tell each other about the textures words such as, cold, slimy, sticky, hard, soft, stretchy and yucky. Supporting the activity, the staff have been helping introduce lots of new words to the children helping them begin to broaden their vocabulary.

The Toddlers have done really well remembering these words and have been heard using them spontaneously during their play- great work Toddlers!
