Over the next couple of weeks, the Toddlers are focussing on ‘vehicles and occupations’.
Today we looked at the different marks that vehicles made by using paints. The children really enjoyed taking it in turns to choose their own vehicles and discussing with each other which to choose, such as the truck or police car. Each child then got involved with moving the vehicles across the paper in the paint and found interest in the marks each vehicle was making. One child said ‘bumpy bumpy’ as they looked at the marks from the truck.
The children then extended this play by using the crates and tyres in the garden to pretend they were in the vehicles; they were singing familiar songs such as the wheels on the bus.
