During the last two weeks the Pre-School children have experienced various activities inspired by Diwali and celebrating the ‘Festival of Light’.

We used glitter and marble paints in water to make some beautiful patterns for our display board and have also been making diva lamps. Using clay, we rolled it out and cut it around our hands. Then once dry, the children selected coloured paints and glitter to decorate and added a tea light in the centre.

To further their understanding of Diwali, the children have been listening to the story about Rama and Sita and Ravana the ten headed demon! This is the story that gives meaning to the Festival of light. Thinking about the celebrations that happen at this festival, we also added some bonfire rockets to our display, as we have been talking about bonfires and fireworks.
