The children from Pre-school 2 have been to visit the residents of the local residential home. They were very excited to be going on an outing and show their Halloween costumes.

Tina, the manager of the home, welcomed the children and showed us into the main lounge to meet the residents. Once inside it didn’t take long for the children to get chatting – talking about their homes and families. The children took some books and sat alongside the residents and to share the stories. Some of the residents have kindly volunteered to come to nursery and read to the children, one gentleman who used to be a town crier is very keen to visit us and share his stories. We also took along some games and the children encouraged the residents to play a game of snap together, it was great fun!

In a festive finish to the visit, Pre-school and residents sang their favourite Christmas songs with a particularly enthusiastic version of Jingle Bells! We are all looking forward to visiting and seeing the residents again.
