Kings Norton Pre-school have been very busy out in the garden planting vegetables in their own vegetable patch.

Helping the children to understand the process of how seeds will grow and where their food comes from, with adult help, we filled the large jute bags with compost and soil and took it turns to plant the different seeds then water them in. Pre-school really enjoyed shovelling, scooping and pouring with a variety of different garden tools, all aiding development of handling and measuring skills.

The children were all very interested and asked lots of questions throughout the activity, they can’t wait to see what grows and how long it will take to see their first nursery grown vegetables!
