Stay Safe – Be Safe
This week Pre – School have been learning about road safety, looking closely at being safe in the car and when crossing the road. During a discussion the children were able to tell us that they need to wear “Seatbelts”, “Hold hands”, “Use the traffic lights” “Stay on the pavement” and “Hold mommy’s hand”.
We took the signs and traffic lights in to the garden and played a game. The children pretended to be cars and could, “Drive”, when shown green and stopped when they were shown the red light. The children afterwards excitedly told us what the different colours for the traffic lights mean.
Using paints, pipe cleaners, tape and brushes, the children made their own traffic lights to take home. They showed confidence in using the different mark making tools.
