This week Pre-toddlers have been exploring different types of textures. Using lots of language related to textures, we have helped and encouraged the children to explore different types of tools and how they mark make. By doing this, the children have been able to explore four out of their 5 natural senses. Although some of the children tried to add the fifth sense into it as well; TASTE!

The children used their hands and were encouraged to make marks with chunky paint brushes, which will help the children to begin to use the palmer grasp as well as encouraging them to begin to notice the effects their movement has on their mark making. They really enjoyed the sensation of the foam between their fingers and were intrigued how it goes from big and fluffy to flat and sticky!
