Over the past two weeks Pre-school have been focusing on Science and colour. This started as an adult–led activity but quickly developed into something the children showed lots of interest in and developed through their own interests and natural curiosity. The children learnt and explored about light and dark, magnets, how colours change and using colour for a particular purpose.

The children were mostly fascinated about the big experiments, in particular; the coke and mentos explosion and the bicarbonate soda and vinegar volcano.

“It got bigger, bigger to the sky”.

The children had the opportunity to learn about simple concepts, what happens when they mix colours and so much more!

By the end of the week the children could all talk confidently about something new they had learnt, share ideas and talk about why things happen and how things work.
