The Toddlers have a keen interest in technology and electronic toys, so we have encouraged the children to explore all different types of electronic equipment.

Exploring remote control cars, computers, microphones and torches, we have been experimenting and trying to work out different ways of using the equipment, for instance pushing a button or gliding fingers across the screen and then noticing what happens, during play with the torches one child said “dark!” as we had turned the lights off.  This has helped the children to learn about and discover new ways of movement, whilst giving them the opportunity to explore a wider range of electronic equipment that is available around the nursery.  To further this activity, the next steps would be to look at how the children could change shapes, colours, songs and make different marks using the equipment.
