Last week the Baby room enjoyed exploring and splashing around in the water!

The children have been showing an interest in playing with the baby dolls within the roleplay area, so we created and area for them to bathe the dolls and simulate bath time. They really enjoyed using sponges and clothes to wash the babies in the water and popping the bubbles. We then added containers to encourage filling and emptying and to help them explore different approaches in the water. Some children liked pouring the water over the babies and watching how it the soap and bubbles run off.

After a while, the children showed an interest in sitting in the water to explore the texture and feeling on their whole bodies. The children enjoyed pretending to wash themselves mirroring experiences they have had at home with their families.
