Our littlest Shooting Stars really enjoy mealtimes! The babies love exploring food with their hands and learning to hold and use a spoon, whilst accessing their own drink. It can get a little messy but they’re learning and growing in independence daily. Our nursery cook adapts and blends purees for babies on weaning diets until they’re ready to move towards enjoying our main menu. Meals are then finely chopped, cut or mashed to suit each baby’s stage, to ensure safe and enjoyable meal and snack times.

•Opens mouth for spoon.
•Holds own bottle or cup.
•Grasps finger foods and brings them to mouth.
•Attempts to use spoon: can guide towards mouth but food
often falls off.
