The children have recently shown an interest in the seaside, as many children have either been on holiday or are preparing for their holiday. With this in mind we linked this interest to the children’s learning and play at nursery.
Throughout the week we enjoyed exploring our very own beach. We used the sand, buckets and spades and different beach props, such as beach bags, beach towels and beach ball. This activity also helped with our filling and emptying skills, gaining more control to make sandcastles.

We also explored blue water for the sea, with our sea animals. We pretended that the animals were swimming in the sea, and we learnt the names of some of the animals such as whale and a dolphin. We also had fun exploring different sized boats in the water.
