This week in Preschool the children have really enjoyed the introduction of our new topic ‘travel agents ’. Last month our topic of the month was the beach. The children really enjoyed role playing holidays and talking about their own experiences and therefore we wanted to extend their thinking and pursue their interests by creating our very own travel agents.
The children have really enjoyed talking about holidays (both from memory and from their own aspirations), finding different countries on the globe and talking about cultures, selling each other holidays and packing their suitcases. We have also been reading stories about holidays and drawing our dream holiday destinations. In order to create a travel agents we used a passport case, suitcase with holiday items, keyboard and computer screen, holiday brochures, globe and other summer resources!
Nest steps: To extend this activity further, our topic of the month for next month is travel, focusing on different methods of transport and transforming our home corner into a train station.
